NETFLIX

· Tiger King: Obviously one of the most popular documentaries out right now. Follows the lives of Jeff Lowe, Joe Exotic, and Carole Baskin and their involvement with tiger zoos and eachother. Takes viewers on a wild ride into the lives of these people.

· I Am A Killer: Documents the stories of multiple people accused of horrible crimes and gives viewers their side of the story. It gives a different perspective on crime and criminals.

· The Staircase: Follows one man’s mysterious death of two wives in similar circumstances. The first was ruled an accident, but throughout the documentary, viewers and those involved begin to question if it really was an accident.

· Making A Murderer: Tells the story of one unfortunate man who was convicted for a crime he claims he did not commit.

· Abducted In Plain Sight: Really draws on the emotions of viewers and drags them in because of the obvious stupidity of the people involved. A young girl ends up being kidnapped by a close family friend even after the parents were given SO many red flags about the abductor.

· Cold Case Files: Tells multiple different case stories about cold cases that have yet to be solved and the ongoing investigations surrounding them

· Ted Bundy Tapes: Most people I know have seen this already, but it documents the life and crimes of serial killer Ted Bundy.

· The Keepers: This documentary outlines the lives of young catholic school girls and a nun that they confided in. These girls were accusing religious men of high power within the church of molestation and improper behavior and the nuns mission to take them down.

· Mindhunter: This documentary tells the story about the beginnings of behavioral analysis in crimes and using a person’s behavior to find others in the world like them.

HULU

· Disappeared: This docuseries tells the story of many missing persons who’s disappearances still have not been found. Kind of hard to watch because there is no closure in any of these cases so it leaves viewers and those involved searching for answers.

· American Scandals by Barbara Walters: Barbara Walters, well known TV personality and reporter, follows some of the most well-known cases in American history. She also interviews those convicted of the crimes and gives viewers their side of the story as well.

· Hunting JonBenet’s Killer; The Untold Story: One of the most well-known unresolved cases in America. This documentary follows all the theories in the case and poses the question what really happened to this little girl?

· I Love You, Now Die: This two part documentary tells the story of Conrad Roy’s suicide and Michelle Carter’s involvement in his death. This case set a precedent in cases that involved virtual technology and was super interesting.

· The Act: This was one of the most popular Hulu documentaries. It is a recreation of the real life story of Gypsy, who’s mother made her believe her entire life that she was very very sick when in reality she was not. When Gypsy and her boyfriend realized the truth, they made a plan to kill her mother and succeeded.
